Paranormal. This means something happens outside of our normal understanding or experience. It could also imply we are well nigh narrow minded in how we are in the world. That our experiences are so very limited. That we find it difficult, impossible to imagine things outside our scope of reality.
Recently a neighbor commented that he had nothing in common with individuals living near him. I could feel a slight twist toward a frown on my face.
"Nothing?"
"Sure, you do. There are many aspects that you share. You all want to love, take care of your families, do good work."
His face went blank as it often does. I thought about the blankness of my own experiences sometimes. Compassion is a whole lot easier that way. To see yourself so humanly in others.
This weekend Sunday specifically, the Paranormal Zone on WCSA in Portsmouth, New Hampshire 106.1 FM, there will be a talk on UFOs beginning at 5 p.m.
